We are a multi-award winning Charitable Foundation and Association that uses martial arts to tackle social injustice and change lives.
From knife crime, childhood poverty and violence against women and girls through to professional standards, safeguarding and grass roots participation; we’re there. Representing more than 16,500 on the mats participants and instructors across thousands of venues and locations right the way up and down the UK; the BMABA Fighting Chance Foundation uses martial arts to tackle social injustices, empower disenfranchised youths and transform lives.
We passionately believe that Martial Arts can instil life-affirming and potentially life-saving skills. From self-discipline, empowerment and physical fitness through to personal safety skills, sporting opportunities and even the chance to earn a living as an instructor – we know it has alot to offer.
The BMABA Fighting Chance Charitable Foundation is a national organisation that tackles childhood poverty and social inequality through structured martial arts programmes. We’re also part of the BMABA Association which represents the interests of more than 16,500 instructors, students, clubs and volunteers from across the United Kingdom. This makes our organisation one of the most effective and highly-structured martial arts organisations anywhere in the United Kingdom.

Started with just £20 of capital by a young man with lived experience of childhood poverty and the life-changing opportunities martial arts can provide.
We’ve risen to dominance as a governing body and have gone on to then transform into a Charity to remain to the benefit of the public. We receive absolutely nothing from Sport England or the Government and rely entirely upon the support of people like you.
